Company Overview

FUSE Corps is a national nonprofit that enables local government to more effectively address the most pressing challenges facing urban communities. In pursuit of this mission, FUSE runs an executive-level fellowship program in civic innovation that is focused on accelerating cross-sector collaboration and community-based problem solving. FUSE partners with city leaders to identify key strategic challenges and then recruits entrepreneurial professionals who spend a year working in local government to address those challenges. Typically FUSE Fellows have on average 15-20 years of professional experience and are uniquely qualified for their individual projects as well as the program as a whole. FUSE fellows are uniquely positioned to achieve transformative impact across issues areas such as education, health, social services, economic development, public safety, and the environment.

In the coming months, FUSE will be launching an equitable recovery initiative in response to COVID-19 and its economic consequences, as well as the nation's current reckoning around racial, social, and economic justice. Working with cities and counties throughout the country, FUSE will be placing Executive Fellows who can work on structural and system changes that will reduce disparities and accelerate economic recovery by focusing on issues that will have the greatest long-term impact for local residents. Focus areas include living wage jobs, affordable housing, access to healthcare, education/childcare, and justice reform.

Company History

FUSE is a national nonprofit that partners with local government to help urban communities thrive. We work with cities and counties on a range of issues, including economic and workforce development, healthcare, public safety, climate change, and education.

Our approach centers around an executive fellowship program. We work closely with our government partners to design yearlong strategic projects, recruit experienced leaders to take on those challenges, and provide the ongoing support to help fellows achieve their full potential for community impact.

By helping to craft new policy, roll out new public services, and improve existing programs, we allow governments to work better for the people they serve.

Since 2012, FUSE has placed more than 160 executive fellows in over 100 local government agencies throughout the country. More than 50 percent of alumni have continued to work in roles in civic leadership after their fellowships, and 90 percent of our partner government agencies have returned each year with requests to host additional fellows.

Benefits

Executive Fellows are employees of FUSE Corps and make an annual salary of $80,000. They also have access to a range of benefit options, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
