Position Overview

Align seeks a Project Manager with strong IT physical layer design, build-out and relocation experience working for Align's Workplace Technology Solution within our London office. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with in-depth cabling infrastructure design knowledge and experience managing large IT relocation projects and office technology build outs. This should be a polished individual that is aspiring to expand into more of a leadership role. This person will have the opportunity to work with and build upon a great team and while continuing our track record of success. This professional will be responsible for ensuring the continued success of our Workplace Technology Solution through effective:

  • Hand-on project management for the design and build-out of the IT physical layer for new office construction projects
  • Providing outstanding customer service through project delivery
  • Exceptional communication and leadership

This person will manage the delivery of these projects, maintaining accurate control of all resources and activities to ensure successful engagements.

Qualified candidates must have strong project management, in-depth cabling infrastructure design and IT construction management skills. They should also be familiar with the following: wireless networks, workplace design and construction; trading floor technologies; collaboration tools; audio/video system design and implementation; physical security and smart office systems. The position is hands on, with the ideal candidate providing active leadership on large-scale enterprise and SMB office end user technology transformation projects.

  • The Project Manager will be a hybrid role reporting to our London Office; however, this person will be required to travel to and work at client locations in the London and EMEA/Middle East (up to 25 percent)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all levels of engagement proposal development, pricing, client administration, resourcing, adherence to profit margin outlined as part of the proposal, risk management through project delivery and supervisory oversight of delivery team
  • Act as technology representative at client construction meetings as well as internal project team affiliates including IT and Facilities, etc.
  • When appropriate, work with other SMEs as needed and help provide executive-level consulting and advice to clients and management regarding assigned aspects of workplace technology, including audiovisual systems, scheduling and workplace management solutions, smart office environmental controls, convergence and IP television, and a large variety of other technologies
  • Engage clients using diverse tools such as process review and design, needs and risk assessment, and industry benchmarking as needed
  • Collaboratively develop client business requirements, formulate solutions, develop business case justifications, provide cost/benefit analysis, communicate risks/benefits clearly and expertly manage client expectations throughout the project life cycle while ensuring profitable engagement
  • Lead clients in the development of tactical and strategic views to ensure business and IT alignment, reduce risk, optimal future/target state and ROM
  • Responsible for presentations to client with needs analysis findings and next steps as it pertains to the engagement
  • Manage overall engagement profitability, revenue, margins, utilization goals, pricing and contract administration while providing leadership, mentoring, and advice to internal Align professionals


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or an IT-related field is desired
  • At least 5 years of IT Physical Layer project delivery experience managing complex projects focused workplace technology implementation and large relocation projects, including design, implementation, user relocation
  • Strong experience in low voltage cable design to support IT, AV and Physical Security Systems is a critical requirement
  • Experience managing business-critical IT workplace technology projects related such as physical layer design, IT construction project management, cabling infrastructure, A/V integration, physical security, end user relocation and new office build-out
  • Prior professional services or consulting experience managing large technology relocation projects is a plus
  • Background should include a mix of hands-on physical later technical knowledge and a exposure to current and future technology requirement assessments
  • Excellent conceptualization, articulation, presentation and facilitation skills are essential
  • Understand the business/strategic architecture considerations related to information technology projects within large, global infrastructure and Fortune 500 companies
  • Should be knowledgeable in several of the following areas: workplace design and construction; technology collaboration tools; BYOD tools and techniques; workplace architecture and construction; audiovisual system design and implementation; telepresence platforms and smart office systems
