Description
The Director of Nursing Supports oversees the nursing department and is responsible for developing and implementing the health and wellness care plans for consumers to ensure their needs are identified, addressed, and yield quality results.
This role reports to the Senior Director, Residential services. This position is in person at our office in Fairfield, NJ and might require some commute to our programs in Essex County.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee, develop and implement acute and chronic care plans for adult residential services consumers, ensuring comprehensive medical, nutritional, and medication needs are met.
Collaborate with Department Directors, act as a liaison between doctors/hospitals and programs, advocate for consumers, manage hospitalization care, and communicate care coordination needs.
Ensure staff training specific to consumer health and wellness needs.
Develop, oversee, and implement medical, nutritional, and medication documentation protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
Ensure training availability meets consumer needs, and regulatory guidelines and standards.
Supervise nursing staff, including case assignments and monitoring work quality and efficiency.
Direct DSP/Management teams in implementing care plans.
Oversee and conduct Quality Improvement processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education / Work Experience / Skills:
Valid/current New Jersey State RN license required
Experience working in field nursing required
Experience working with adults with intellectual and development disabilities required
Must have a valid New Jersey Driver’s license
