Alta is seeking a highly organized Business Development Research and Administrative Assistant with exceptional execution to join its growing team. This role will provide day-to-day organizational and logistical leadership to the business development and policy/government affairs teams. The successful candidate will have prior business administration and research experience; someone with mining, mineral, energy tech, business background strongly encouraged. The individual will join a group of collaborative support staff and scientists with diverse skill sets located in Boulder and remote offices, and should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, a curiosity to learn, and a flexible attitude to help a rapidly growing startup succeed. This position will report to the Boulder office at least 80% of the time (other 20% can be offsite, e.g., at a home office). Core workday hours are from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM MT (Monday through Friday) and when the employee performs the remaining 5 hours/week is flexible. Responsibilities:
This role will report directly to Alta’s Chief Executive Officer and the Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs.
Provide business development research assistance to inform company work such as grant applications, presentations, one pagers/memos, and policy proposals.
Assist the VP of Policy and Gov. Affairs with drafting and reviewing high quality grant applications.
Assist with grant reporting and compliance.
Work closely with the CEO to support both internal and external communications, to manage the CEO and company calendars, and to schedule meetings.
Help to organize orientation and onboarding for new team members.
Organize logistics for team member travel, for guest visits, and for board meetings.
Miscellaneous tasks typical of administrative roles.
Requirements
Required qualifications:
B.A./B.S. or 2+ years experience supporting directors or C-level executives.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace.
Strong organizational and record keeping ability.
A clear, concise written and verbal communicator.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within and among different teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment, both independently and within a team.
Desired qualifications:
Experience using features in MS Excel to simplify workflows and automate systems.
Experience working with an early stage company.
Experience with grant writing and/or grant reporting.
Familiarity with the mining, climate tech, and/or biotech landscapes.
