Hiring Salary Range: $48,179-$58,754
Full Range: $48,179 - $69,330

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Manager, this position performs a variety of skilled and technical work associated with the installation, use, and upgrades of the District’s communication systems, computer hardware and software, copiers, printers, servers, modems, phones, etc. The position provides support to users by troubleshooting and resolving technical problems. This is not a remote work position. Work is required to be performed on-site.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day maintenance of computer equipment by installing, configuring, troubleshooting and repairing computer equipment and software problems.
- As the first point of contact, monitor and answer helpdesk phone during business hours and respond accordingly. High levels of customer service and excellent communication skills are critical to this role.
- Create user network and email accounts; troubleshoot problems with accounts, network rights, and hardware; performs updates and backups as needed.
- Provide a variety of hardware repair functions. Diagnose, repair and/or replace memory, hard drives, etc.
- Pull cable, locate and relocate PCs, printers and other hardware.
- Install software to initialize PCs, upgrades, patches, and revisions. Regularly checks for and conducts virus updates and distribution to servers and workstations.
- Provide troubleshooting, problem analysis assistance and instruction to staff with computer problems remotely or at the user’s workstation; determine user needs; recommend and implements solutions to ensure minimum delay and effective operation for system users.
- Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting copiers, printers and other peripherals.
- Maintain records for software, hardware (both loaned out and permanently installed), maintenance schedules, and licensing as required for efficient IS operation and compliance to copyright or other laws.
- Stay current with technologies applicable to District use. Demonstrate mastery in software usage and the ability to teach it to others.
- Assist with additional tasks such as network and systems monitoring and general server maintenance in the absence of Systems Administrator and/or Information Technology Manager.
- Support the District’s digital accessibility initiatives by implementing best practices as communicated, participating in trainings and/or completing other related tasks as assigned.

- Assists with the creation of digitally accessible content using standard office productivity software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat).
- Responds to after-hours emergencies as part of an on call rotation.
- Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
Work Environment: 95% of the work is performed indoors in a busy office-type environment where noise and interruptions prevail. Occasional environmental conditions encountered include noise, fumes, odors, and dust. Requires the ability to drive between various locations and occasionally transport supplies during the performance of the job duties.
Physical Requirements: Most work is performed indoors in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail. Must be able to frequently sit and occasionally walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Manual dexterity is needed to operate PC and other office equipment. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face-to-face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity, depth perception and color vision. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift / move a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted; and lift / move a maximum of 100 pounds with assistance. Requires the ability to express and receive both oral and written communication.
