Job Summary
The Technical Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating customer-facing projects related to the development of our autonomous driving software. This role acts as the critical engineering and business glue, serving as the primary communication hub between customers, external partners, and internal engineering teams. The ideal candidate will leverage a deep technical understanding of autonomous systems to translate customer needs into detailed engineering plans, manage cross-functional execution, and drive projects to successful completion. You will be responsible for projects spanning 3D point cloud data, sensor fusion, and vehicle control systems.
Responsibilities
- Customer Project Management & Technical Interface:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, translating their requirements, desired features, and schedule expectations into a clearly defined scope, milestones, and actionable tasks for the engineering team.
- Effectively communicate engineering constraints, risks, and technical trade-offs (performance vs. schedule vs. cost) to customers and executive leadership to support decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Project Execution:
- Define detailed project plans, assign specific tasks to colleagues and partners, and manage the allocation of engineering resources across multiple competing projects.
- Manage overall project progress, proactively identifying technical and logistical issues that hinder completion, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to set and communicate priorities, balancing urgent customer deliveries with the long-term product roadmap and internal quality improvements.
- Technically-Grounded Program Management:
- Utilize a strong technical understanding of the autonomous driving stack to interpret project goals, analyze plans for job readiness, and execute hands-on engineering tasks when necessary to promote project progress.
- Proactively identify foreseeable risks-including hardware integration, safety protocols, and quality certification-and prepare mitigation and fallback strategies.
- Maintain and update project management tools and documentation to ensure clear visibility for all stakeholders.
- Organizational Process Optimization:
- Establish and enforce company-wide standards for schedule management, risk tracking, QA gates, and the software release process.
- Document and share lessons learned, root cause analyses, and success cases from projects to build a reusable organizational knowledge base.
Qualifications
- BS in a related engineering or computer science field.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical project or program management, preferably for an Automotive OEM software supplier.
- System Architect or System Engineering experience in the Automotive industry.
- Proven experience acting as a technical interface with customers, including new business acquisition or account management (especially in ADAS or APA/AVP projects).
- Technical experience in the AI perception related industry.
- Native proficiency in Korean and professional fluency in English.
- Strong technical communication skills (reading and writing) and the ability to explain complex engineering challenges to diverse audiences.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or other professional project management credentials.
