Description
Metro Christian Academy, a private Christian School located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, seeks a full-time Network Administrator.
The Network Administrator is responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of the school’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate establishes effective decision-making and priority-setting processes for major IT projects and initiatives, collaborates with teachers and school administration to facilitate the use of technology in the classrooms, and oversees the training and ongoing maintenance of the school’s information software and other web-based programs.
DUTIES:
- Manages school’s Information Technology systems, to include:
- Network hardware, software, and operating systems (servers, switches and routers, power supplies, Internet hardware, and cabling) security, communications, and database applications;
- All employee and student workstations (desktops, laptops, tablets devices) in Windows, Apple, and Google Chrome operation systems, and printers;
- School-owned (teacher and students iPads, Chromebooks, and carts);
- Instructional hardware (smart boards, Audio Enhancement, video projectors, document cameras, etc.);
- School-wide Wi-Fi;
- Exchanged based E-mail, OneNote, and SharePoint.

- Administer, facilitate, and implement educational hardware and organizational systems which adhere to Metro-based policies in classrooms and the school as a whole;
- Provide information to others to ensure successful technology implementation such as overseeing projects and/or training to include individuals with varying levels of technology knowledge.
- Supports the Ed Tech Specialist to identify appropriate educational technology for all types of classroom applications.
- Partners with the Board of Trustees Technology Strategy sub-committee to enact technology upgrades, initiatives, and strategic plan.
- Administers active directory domain encompassing all MCA-owned computers to adhere to best practices for network security and functionality.
- Manages a replacement cycle of all hardware and maintains and inventory of the same.
- Prepares an annual budget for all school-owned technology including some measure of reserves for replacement and monitors budget throughout the year.
- Manages all hardware and software contracts and vendors related to the technology environment.
- Manages and maintains technology equipment in auditorium to insure best practices and consistent functionality.
- Supervises technology staff; oversees interviewing, hiring recommendations, training, evaluations, and disciplinary issues.
- Perform regular backup of servers and files, monitor backup systems, conduct periodic recovery tests, and ensure compliance with data protection policies and disaster recovery requirements.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies, including access controls, encryption, software licensing, use of password managers, and BYOD guidelines.

Candidate must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma for this position.
Requirements
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE AND COMMITMENTS:
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate Christian professionalism appropriate to Metro Christian Academy.
- Knowledge of and ability to uphold and to integrate Metro Christian Academy’s Statement of Faith, mission, vision, motto, and ideal employee profile.
- Knowledge of educational technology.
- Knowledge of and ability to use computer-based programs and student information systems.
- Knowledge of technology and computers, including virtual and physical.
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi topology and mesh networks.
- Knowledge of security and camera systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 or later.
- Knowledge of Firewall, Router and Switch networking applications and programming.
- Knowledge of classroom technology, including SMART Boards and their associated projectors and software applications.
- Knowledge and ability to perform general hardware maintenance and/or removal and replacement of computer components.
- Knowledge of information systems development and implementation
- Knowledge of interactive technology systems, networks, and instructional computing directions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to foster both appreciation and understanding of how technology can impact learning and each student’s future.
- Ability to diagnose and interpret user concerns of malfunctioning hardware/software.
- Ability to multi-task in hardware support and support of user needs for instruction in use of technology.
- Be familiar with current trends in educational technology, to use best practices in all facets (hardware, software, Web, apps, etc.).
- Ability to advise administration regarding anticipated future requirements (timing of acquisitions, budget, transitions in software, training, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, students, and vendors on various projects and Technology Advisory Committees.
- Ability to train and develop individuals with varying levels of technology knowledge.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
- Ability to perform routine and complex tasks repeatedly, rapidly, and accurately.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.
