Sr. Marketing Manager
WABE is seeking an execution-focused, innovative, and experienced Senior Marketing Manager with a passion for storytelling and proven expertise in digital audience engagement. This role will bridge the trusted legacy of TV and radio broadcasting with the fast-evolving demands of today’s digital, social, and mobile-first audiences.
The Senior Marketing Manager will lead integrated, cross-platform marketing strategies that drive audience growth, engagement, and loyalty. This position requires a strategic thinker and hands-on manager who excels at developing and executing campaigns across traditional and digital platforms, with a primary focus on digital, mobile, and social media engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Marketing Strategy – Develop and execute comprehensive, mission-aligned marketing strategies that strengthen WABE’s brand and expand audience reach.
- Digital, Mobile & Social Media – Lead the creation, curation, and distribution of compelling multimedia content across social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, etc.) and digital devices (mobile, desktop, smart speakers).
- Cross-Platform Storytelling – Collaborate with editorial, broadcast, and production teams to adapt on-air content for digital channels, ensuring consistency, reach, and brand alignment.
- Campaign Development – Plan, manage, and optimize campaigns supporting programming, local content, fundraising, and community initiatives.
- Fundraising Support – Partner with membership and development teams to create persuasive marketing assets and campaigns that drive donations and audience participation.
- Audience Growth & Analytics – Monitor, analyze, and report on audience performance metrics across various platforms (linear & digital); translate insights into actionable strategies to maximize engagement and demonstrate ROI.
- Community Engagement – Build vibrant online communities, amplify diverse voices, and deepen audience trust through authentic, inclusive engagement strategies.
- Advertising & Partnerships – Design and manage traditional and digital advertising campaigns; cultivate partnerships with local organizations, sponsors, and influencers to extend reach and brand impact.
- Paid Media Oversight – Lead paid and organic social campaigns, including budget management, targeting, optimization, and A/B testing.
- Team Leadership – Supervise and mentor marketing staff member, providing guidance and feedback.
- Communications Alignment – Partner with leadership to ensure consistent, timely, and professional messaging across platforms.
- Innovation & Trends – Stay current with marketing technologies, best practices, and digital trends to position WABE at the forefront of audience engagement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing, digital engagement, or social media strategy—ideally within media, broadcasting, or nonprofit sectors.
- Strong execution focus with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Experience supervising and developing team member/s.
- Proven success in designing and executing multi-channel campaigns that grow and engage diverse audiences.
- Expertise in digital/mobile/social media management, analytics tools (Neilsen, Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.), and data-driven storytelling.
- Exceptional copywriting and communication skills with the ability to craft inclusive, compelling, and audience-focused messaging.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues across editorial, broadcast, development, leadership, and other internal and external teams.
- Experience with multimedia content production, including graphics, TV/video/shorts, audio/podcasts, radio/live streaming, newsletters, social posts etc.
- Familiarity with public broadcasting’s mission, values, and community-centered approach is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and contributors with attention to detail and creativity.
- Knowledge of digital advertising and paid social media strategies.
- Proficiency in relevant digital tools (social media scheduling, CRM, email marketing, graphic design software).
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams, partners, and the public.
