Senior Manager Application Development
Health Sciences IT (HSIT) is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Manager for Applications and Development to join our team. The HSIT team provides support for the six schools of the health sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of senior and junior developers and SharePoint Admins.
- Work with stakeholders to define application requirements and complete application architecture documentation.
Deep technical understanding of application development using C#/.Net React technology stack.
- Experience using microservices and converting legacy applications to microservice architecture.
Experience using SQL and NoSQL databases in application development.
- Deep understanding of application security and authentication mechanisms.
- Experience with AWS/Azure application services such as App Service, Lambda, Function App, Fargate, AKS, ACS, etc.
- Experience migrating apps to cloud services & building applications in containers.
- Work with application vendors for 3rd party applications and migrating custom applications to 3rd party applications 14.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in application development and team leadership.
- Strong technical skills in C#/.Net, React, SQL, NoSQL, and cloud services.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- 7+ years of development including 3+ years leading teams.
- Working with Microsoft Power Platform services and SharePoint. Experience with Java applications.
- Experience building and consuming APIs.
Job Summary
Oversees development, implementation, and maintenance of administrative applications. Establishes procedures and improves departmental practices and systems. Compiles data-driven, statistical reports for University use and develops complex local and web-based applications.
Essential Functions
This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise applications that support HSIT's operations. In addition to custom development, this role evaluates and recommends third-party or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions when they provide better value, efficiency, or scalability. This role collaborates with stakeholders, IT leadership, and vendors to ensure technology decisions align with business goals, security requirements, and long-term sustainability.
Physical Effort
Light, Little physical effort. Duties are primarily Sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
