Position Summary
The Senior Internal Auditor plays a critical role in LMC’s mission by providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve operations. This position brings a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes—particularly in the areas of finance, operations, compliance, and information technology.
Essential Functions
- Conduct operational, compliance, financial, and/or IT-focused audits across diverse departments.
- Develop audit programs, execute engagements, validate issues, write reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Lead audit meetings, conduct interviews, review documentation, and perform data analytics.
- Prepare clear and concise written audit reports, identifying root causes and making actionable recommendations.
- Partner with all levels of leadership, including senior management, to ensure risk mitigation and process improvement.
- Participate in the annual risk assessment process and stay current on industry and audit standards.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Finance, Business).
- Experience: 5+ years internal audit/public accounting experience, or 3+ years healthcare internal audit experience (mid-to-large hospital environment preferred).
- Certifications (required within 12 months of hire): CIA, CPA, CHIAP, CFE, CISA, or related certification.
- Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, presentation, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and automated work paper applications.
