Geotechnical - Senior Inspector
Job Summary:
Perform construction observation and materials testing to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct construction observation to verify work is performed according to approved plans and specifications.
Perform special inspections (reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, masonry, etc.) and field-materials testing, including soil compaction, concrete strength, and asphalt density.
Record and document daily test results and observations; communicate findings with the project management team.
Prepare and organize test reports for different phases of the construction project.
Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate readings.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of experience in quality control, construction materials testing, or related field.
American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade I certification.
Nevada Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (NAQTC) Sampling and Density certification.
International Code Council (ICC) Certification(s); ICC certifications in Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, and Masonry preferred.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour Construction certification.
Proficient in overseeing construction activities, conducting field tests, and preparing detailed reports.
Familiarity with equipment, techniques, and protocols used in construction materials testing.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a team environment.
Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions.
