As a result, we are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Senior Director who have demonstrated the ability of leading and managing a broad and complex portfolio of programs throughout the project lifecycle. In CAS, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics for both commercial and military platforms - whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. CAS is a $1.2+b, transatlantic business with major facilities in Endicott, New York; Rochester, United Kingdom; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Guaymas, Mexico. The business is headquartered in Endicott, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
Participating and leading proposal team meetings, preparing the terms, conditions and bid assumptions upon which the proposal may be submitted, reviewing the technical and pricing proposals for accuracy and consistency, and preparing proposal documents for submittal to the customer.
Responsibilities also include coordinating with other company functions as required to ensure the appropriate reviews are scheduled and conducted and the required review and approval signatures are received prior to the submittal of proposals or execution of contractual documents.
Research and make recommendations on contract language and seek guidance on complex terms and conditions from higher-level contract administrators and managers. Negotiate complex contracts under the general guidance of the Contracts Director.
Provide analysis of solicitations, assure that bid/proposals are prepared and presented in a manner to afford the Company the greatest opportunity to obtain the contract award while minimizing associated liabilities and risk, support independent proposal reviews.
Capable of establishing and managing negotiation strategies, and financial requirements, conduct negotiation of contracts; execute proposals and contracts to the threshold delegated.
Compile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and Company policies and procedures.
Collaborates with external customers and stakeholders in the pursuit of new business opportunities and the resolution of significant contractual and business issues.
Responsible for managing multiple defense and commercial contracting environments while ensuring compliance to critical business processes and performance execution to help organization deliver positive financial performance throughout all acquisition phases.
Supports Joint Ventures with multinational companies.
The Role:
This position is for the Controls and Avionics Solutions Principal Contracts Administrator, an essential member of the Contracts and business area leadership team. The position requires a highly organized and experienced Contracts professional in both the commercial and DoD acquisition environments with strong leadership, management and influencing skills. The selected candidate will work with internal and external customers to shape, manage and close business opportunities in concert with internal objectives for the Engine Systems product line and CAS business area.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience in US Government Contracting or equivalent education and experience, with understanding of both Commercial and Military Aircraft markets.
- Proposal Preparation experience
- Strong knowledge and experience with intellectual property protection strategies and policies.
- Business acumen and ability to develop and provide guidance of a strategic nature regarding customers, top line growth and overall performance of the business area.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth above.
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
- Exhibits sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers
- Uses computer skills to prepare appropriate reports, briefings, presentations, letters and documents
- Makes informed decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Develops and demonstrates research and presentation skills
- FAR/DFARS knowledge and experience
- Must be able to obtain a US Secret Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree specifically in business or related field; Master's degree is a plus
- National Contract Management Association (NCMA) membership and Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certifications are a plus
- Holds a current US DoD SECRET level clearance or higher
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
