About the Role
Reporting to Lead Project Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the growth, implementation, and evolution of Underwriting (UW) L&H solutions in APAC market.
The role is client facing and requires the ability to identify client opportunities, build and evolve existing solutions, identify use cases to meet client specific business strategies, and implement solutions to achieve Swiss Re's Solutions growth ambitions. The role requires strong collaboration skills working across different teams within Swiss Re to execute the right solutions for our clients.
The primary responsibility of this role is to originate, implement and evolve the various UW L&H Solutions for Swiss Re. This includes ability to
- Develop, build relationship and maintain regular dialogue with our clients' key decision makers (COO, UW teams etc) to identify opportunities for UW L&H solutions suite of products.
- Have strong project management and stakeholder management skills to drive client implementations to ensure smooth, timely and quality delivery
- Identify areas of opportunities (eg POC, use cases, product innovation bundle etc) to persuade internal and external clients to adopt our suite of products
- Drive the product roadmap for UW L&H Solutions and work with development and product teams to ensure the prioritized requirements are delivered
- Work closely with various stakeholders including UW community, Central Rules Team (CRT), developers etc to continually evolve our Solutions to be robust and fit for purpose
- Define the strategy to enhance solution design and scalability to establish our risk knowledge leader positioning
Stay abreast of UW initiatives in order to demonstrate our risk expertise to clients - Understand and appreciate the dependencies of our Solutions functionalities and IT effort and be able to work closely with IT and Product teams to maximise our differentiation in market
- Be close to external developments (eg electronic health records, external data, AI evolution) that impact our clients and proactively evolve our solutions to address clients' needs and painpoints
- Have a deep understanding of the operational KPI and needs of our clients and be able to demonstrate the value add of our solutions to these KPIs
- To have a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and help to enhance our differentiation vs competition
Foster a strong team spirit of collaboration, innovation and execution orientation. - Work with key internal stakeholders and colleagues to develop strong strategic overview for UW L&H Solutions
Represent Swiss Re at conferences and external industry events

Our team collaborates closely with Client Markets, Underwriting, Solutions XFT, and our clients, ensuring we deliver impactful, end-to-end solutions that enable smarter, faster, and more sustainable underwriting practices.
About You
- 5 - 10 years relevant L&H experience in an Asian insurer or reinsurer, an underwriting background, understanding of underwriting engines or IT background in projects and/ or operations would be advantageous
- You should be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment while applying structured thinking to drive outcomes.
- You have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues into actionable steps.
- You have demonstrated proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- You enjoy being hands-on and willing to dive deep into topics when necessary.
- You should have computer science background or exposure to integrating with APIs to streamline data exchange between platforms
- You should have practical experience with programming languages such as Python to automate workflows or improve efficiency
Interest in experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, NLP, or automation to identify opportunities for innovation is preferred - Solid project management experience on IT/ UW automation projects
- Experience contributing to and leading teams using Agile, Scrum, or Design Thinking framework
- Good understanding/appreciation of the pain-points in insurers' operational process and workflow
- Motivated, resilient and results oriented with an ability to work collaboratively in a team and deliver under pressure, strong and calm under pressure to navigate ambiguity with a "can-do" attitude;
- Outgoing, confident with good communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. Self-starter, problem solver, entrepreneurial with the ability to think on your feet;
- Ability to build and maintain a strong network of contacts in the APAC market
The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
