Job DescriptionBAE Systems, Electronic Systems is currently recruiting for a Director, Supply Chain in support of our F35 Product Line. The Product Line Supply Chain Director is accountable for the successful execution of the supply chain strategy at the product line level. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, a strong level of business acumen, and experience leading a team of supply chain professionals. The Director will oversee advanced sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, supply chain risk reduction and overall supply chain execution performance through the supply chain value stream. The successful candidate will be expected to develop progressive supply chain approaches, to support the growth of the business, and to meet or exceed product line and functional goals and objectives. This position collaborates regularly with other internal senior leaders from program management, manufacturing operations, engineering, quality, finance, contracts, and externally with supplier leadership.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Overseeing all aspects of product line supply chain strategy execution across procurement, subcontracts management, and planning.
- Partnering with supply chain leaders from the functional procurement, subcontract, and planning teams within the business area to ensure alignment between function and execution
- Elevating the capabilities of the supply chain team and its interactions with other functions to deliver on operational and financial goals.
- Collaborating with supplier executive leadership to manage strategic relationships and ensure delivery of contracted requirements.
- Monitoring market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to anticipate potential risks and opportunities to the business.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to subcontract project management and supply chain project management staff, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Being an engaged member of the product line leadership team, advising the team on all aspects of supply chain execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to motivate and inspire teams, manage conflict, and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of how supply chain performance is an enabler to business growth.
- Track record of driving transformational change and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Related Bachelor's Degree and 12+ years' work experience or equivalent experience
- 10 plus years in a highly regulated manufacturing industry
- Broad discipline experience in a multi-plant supply chain environment
- Experience leading geographically diverse teams
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and systems
- Familiarity with key elements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
- Strong presentation skills, capable of briefing at all levels of the organization
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- 10 plus year experience in an Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS, CSCP)
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and systems
- Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Existing Secret or Top Secret clearance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $169630 - $288370
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
