Description
Are you a highly motivated and self-driven engineer with a passion for high-speed design? Celestica is looking for a talented and experienced Signal Integrity Engineer to help us design and build market-leading hardware platform solutions.
This is a critical role where you'll be the subject matter expert in the planning of digital PCB designs, from initial simulation to final lab verification and troubleshooting. You'll work with cutting-edge technology that pushes the limits of speed and performance.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
As our Signal Integrity Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for technical solutions. Your core responsibilities include:
- Lead Technical Design: Serve as the subject matter expert for signal integrity and power integrity. You'll provide innovative solutions for complex problems and help with the design review of critical PCBs.
- Act as a Technical Consultant: Serve as a technical consultant and leader for your team. You'll engage with customers and suppliers on product roadmaps and support, providing your expertise and guidance.
- Simulation and Analysis: You'll be proficient in 2D and 3D simulation tools like ADS, ANSYS HFSS, and Sigrity. You'll model high-density I/Os on PCBs, packages, and connectors, and simulate digital interfaces (FPGA to DRAM, SERDES interfaces).
- Lab Verification and Troubleshooting: You'll have significant experience with measuring signal performance in the lab using tools like TDR and VNA. You will also be responsible for developing custom test fixtures and troubleshooting signal integrity issues on completed designs.
- Cost vs. Performance: You'll be an expert in the cost vs. performance trade-offs when designing signal paths, ensuring that our solutions are both high-quality and competitive.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills We're Looking For
We're looking for an accomplished engineer with deep knowledge of SI/PI concepts and a proven ability to lead. The ideal candidate will have:
- High-Speed Design Expertise: You have 12+ years of experience with high-speed signal delivery design and evaluation. You are experienced with single-ended and differential signaling up to 50Gbps.
- Simulation and Modeling Skills: You are proficient with simulation tools like ADS, ANSYS HFSS, and Sigrity. You are also familiar with Allegro or similar layout tools and schematic capture.
- Lab Skills: You have significant experience in the lab, including TDR and VNA measurements, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Leadership & Communication: You are highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work with physically dispersed teams. You have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Physical Demands
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office and Data center environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.

Salary
- $170,000 - 235,000 USD/year
