Description
Veterinarian & Future Owner – Allentown Cat Clinic
Own Your Dream Clinic – A Legacy Awaits
Allentown Cat Clinic isn’t just a veterinary practice; it’s a feline-focused, integrative medicine haven with a heart. We’ve spent decades perfecting the art of natural feline care, blending conventional and holistic medicine to keep our patients thriving well into their 20s. Now, we’re looking for a veterinarian who isn’t just seeking a job—but a future.
This isn’t just an associate veterinarian role. This is a path to ownership. If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own feline-exclusive practice but didn’t know where to start, we’ll show you the way.
Your Future Team & Home
You’ll be joining a tight-knit, cat-obsessed crew that functions more like a family than a workplace. Dr. Paul (U Penn) and Dr. Gretchen (Cornell) lead a dedicated team of six receptionists, three techs, three doctor assistants, and an outstanding practice manager who keeps everything running smoothly. Many of our team members have been here for 10, 20, even 40 years—because when you find a place like this, you don’t leave.
We operate out of a converted home, creating a warm, comfortable atmosphere for both our patients and our team. Three exam rooms, a peaceful euthanasia/acupuncture space, a small surgery suite, and two treatment areas make up our clinic, offering both modern functionality and old-school charm.
“We are bringing back the art of the family doctor.”
– Dr. Gretchen Verheggen
Why This Role is Different
This isn’t about punching a clock. It’s about building a future.
Our last associate left to be closer to her fiancé’s family, but she still keeps in touch and knows she always has a home here. If you see Allentown Cat Clinic as your forever home, we’ll invest in you—financially, professionally, and personally.
Competitive compensation tailored to your experience.
Full benefits package, including health, dental, PTO, retirement plans, and more.
A clear path to ownership—we’ll teach you everything you need to know to run a successful, profitable feline-exclusive practice.
“Dr. Paul is always open to new ideas, suggestions—anything that will make this practice better than it already is.”
– Terri Z. (Receptionist)
Who You Are
A licensed veterinarian in good standing in Pennsylvania.
A lifelong learner who geeks out over feline health.
Passionate about integrative medicine, combining nutrition, herbal therapy, and conventional treatments.
Patient with both cats and their people (but sadly, the law doesn’t let us prescribe “happy drugs” to the owners).
Collaborative and eager to grow a business, not just work a job.
Open to mentorship in ownership.
“This is a very close-knit, furry, friends-and-family kind of place.”
– Kacie (Vet Tech)
What We Offer Beyond Medicine
Allentown Cat Clinic is more than just a practice—it’s a pillar of feline medicine. We’ve been perfecting our approach for decades, understanding that cats require a special kind of care. Here, you’ll be supported by:
A structured workflow—20-minute appointments with a room assistant and tech for every doctor.
Advanced diagnostics & specialist access—local ERs and urgent care centers give us backup when needed.
A culture that values both skill and soul—we work hard, laugh harder, and always put the cats first.
“Why do I love working here? Best coworkers I’ve ever had. Also… CATS!”
– Megan (Vet Tech)
