Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute (LCI), a nationally recognized leader in cancer care and innovation, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Inaugural Director of the Sickle Cell Disease Program to lead our expanding program at the Winston-Salem Campus. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of sickle cell care in a region deeply committed to health equity, research, and patient-centered excellence.
About the Role
As Director, you will lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals living with sickle cell disease. You will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical innovation, research, and community partnerships in collaboration with Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Sickle Cell Disease Program at the Winston-Salem Campus
- Develop and implement innovative care models that improve outcomes and quality of life including gene therapy and other novel modalities
- Foster collaboration across hematology, oncology, pain management, and supportive services
- Lead and support clinical and translational research initiatives
- Mentor and educate medical trainees and junior faculty
- Champion health equity and community engagement

Training and/or Experience Required
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in Hematology or Hematology/Oncology
- Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical or academic settings
- Expertise in sickle cell disease management and research
- Strong commitment to health equity and underserved populations
- Eligibility for medical licensure in North Carolina
