Data Scientist for Trinity Industries, Inc. – Dallas, TX
Job Description: Lead development of end-to-end analytics projects for manufacturing, leasing, and supply chain groups from conception through delivery, driving effective collaboration and alignment with business stakeholders. Perform daily, intensive coding in Python and SQL of data science models and other applications to drive complex business solutions. Partner with data engineers on technical design of complex data sourcing, transformation, and aggregation logic to meet business analytics needs and deliver value. Work with data analysts to translate business requirements into impactful data visualizations and data models in platforms like Qliksense, Tableau, PowerBI, and other analytics tools. Leverage generative AI in analytical work where applicable, including within business workflows to achieve process optimization/digitization. Work closely with business leaders, project stakeholders, and subject matter experts to understand, research, and optimize key business processes. This is an on-premises role with limited work from home privileges.
Job Requirements: Requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or a related field. Experience is required (2 years with Master’s or 4 years with Bachelor’s). Must have experience in each of the following skills: Advanced Data Science Modeling with any of the following analytical languages: Python, R, Spark, Scala, and/or Julia; SQL, Generative AI prompting & custom model deployments, and data transformation tools; Data Architecting, Visualization, and SQL; Data mining, data models, database design/development, and other segmentation techniques; Qliksense and visualization techniques in translating business analytics needs into data visualization and semantic data access requirements; Application development with Business Intelligence tools (Qliksense, Tableau, Power BI.).
