Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join the Procurement team. This pivotal role will lead a team of capital buyers, consultants, and other stakeholders in developing the capital equipment strategy. The position will collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to source and manage procurement of high-value capital assets. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of experience in capital equipment procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of procurement professionals and consultants.
Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to define technical specifications and procurement timelines.
Support capital project planning by providing cost estimates, lead time analysis, and supplier capability assessments.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with organizational objectives and deliver cost savings, quality improvements, and risk mitigation.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions and support innovation.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years experience leading teams.
10 years of experience in capital equipment procurement, preferably in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Job level and salary will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting capital projects in the steel or metals industry.
Familiarity with M&A-driven capital initiatives.
Knowledge of global sourcing and supplier qualification processes.
