Description
Bantam Communications is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Campaign Manager to join our team. In this role, you will design and manage advocacy and public affairs campaigns tailored to the unique political and cultural dynamics of each state and community. These campaigns will shape public opinion, influence policy environments, and mobilize stakeholders in support of advanced and renewable energy initiatives. You will work closely with developers and/or philanthropic and non-profit partners to set goals, define strategy, and ensure alignment between partner objectives and campaign execution. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for managing campaign direction, planning, and operations across communications, policy, and organizing work. The person in this role will work closely with Bantam colleagues and partner organizations to execute advocacy plans, including political strategy, message development, paid and earned media, and grassroots mobilization.
The ideal candidate brings strong strategic thinking, organizational skills, deep knowledge of political and community landscapes, and proven experience in managing campaigns and/or advocacy initiatives. You thrive in fast-moving environments, balance long-term strategy with rapid response, and keep partners aligned and informed every step of the way.
Responsibilities:
- Campaign Oversight: Oversee the implementation of short-term and long-term strategic recommendations. Ensure successful cohesive, disciplined campaign execution.
- Campaign Strategy Development: Design and implement advocacy and public affairs campaigns that build durable support for advanced and renewable energy, tailored to the unique local and state political, cultural, and economic contexts.
- Client and Partner Collaboration: Work closely with developer clients and/or philanthropic and non-profit partners to define goals, recommend tactics, shape strategy, and ensure alignment between partner objectives and campaign execution.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate with Bantam colleagues and partner organizations to implement advocacy plans, including political strategy, message development, paid and earned media, and grassroots mobilization.
- Coalition & Stakeholder Engagement: Understand how to build and strengthen coalitions, engage key stakeholders, and foster relationships that expand the base of support for renewable energy initiatives.
- Political Landscape Understanding: Demonstrate a deep understanding of state and local political landscapes, employing this knowledge to inform strategic decision-making.
- Measurement & Reporting: Track campaign progress, evaluate impact, and provide partners with timely, actionable reports and recommendations.
- Message Development & Communications: Shape compelling narratives and campaign messaging that resonate with diverse audiences and effectively convey the benefits of renewable energy.
Compensation
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
- The annual salary hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000.
- Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as (but not limited to) location, level, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–8+ years leading advocacy, public affairs, political, or issue-based campaigns — ideally at the state or local level — within an agency, consulting firm, nonprofit, or campaign environment.
- Demonstrated success owning client or partner relationships, including regular direct engagement, strategic advising, and ensuring alignment between partner objectives and campaign execution.
- Experience designing and managing multi-channel campaigns that integrate policy context, messaging, grassroots mobilization, earned media, and/or paid media.
- Strong ability and awareness of the nuances needed to navigate and influence local and state political landscapes, with a clear understanding of federal, state, and local public opinion drivers, and stakeholder dynamics.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — able to craft compelling briefs, talking points, and messaging for different audiences, including elected officials, community stakeholders, and media.
- Advanced project management skills — scoping, budgeting, timelines, deliverables, and reporting — with a track record of delivering campaigns on time and within scope.
- Comfort working in a fully remote, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent campaigns and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Subject-matter familiarity with renewable energy, advanced energy policy, or understanding of federal, state, and local infrastructure permitting processes, particularly in the utility-scale development context.
- Familiarity with digital advocacy tools (CRM platforms, email/SMS mobilization, social media advocacy, and analytics) and a data-informed approach to testing and optimization.
- Experience supporting philanthropic or nonprofit partners, aligning mission-driven goals with disciplined, results-oriented campaign execution.
- Knowledge of earned media strategy and/or experience coordinating with media consultants and agencies.
- Experience working on ballot initiatives or multi-state advocacy campaigns, especially in politically diverse environments.
- Proficiency with advocacy CRMs, mobilization platforms, and campaign analytics (e.g., VAN, i360, EveryAction, Mobilize, NationBuilder).
