Biostatistician II: Masters degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or a closely related field is required. Additional experience may not be used to offset the educational requirement. Grade 7 (Salaried)
Biostatistician III:Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field and two (2) years of related experience. Additional experience may NOT be used to offset the educational requirements. Grade 8 (Salaried)
Position Description:
Biostatistician (II /III)
The University of Louisville, Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute seeks candidates for a full-time Biostatistician position with the Division of Environmental Medicine. This individual will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of investigators on epidemiology, environmental health, and basic science projects. The Biostatistician will serve as the senior study statistician responsible for data and analytic responsibilities in support of public health research within the Division of Environmental Medicine.
1 position available. Position will be filled at the Biostatistician II or Biostatistician III level based on candidate qualifications..
Duties include:
- Development of statistical analysis plans, research plans, study protocols, and grant proposals, in collaboration with multi-disciplinary research teams.
- Collection, cleaning, management, and preparation of toxicology, biomonitoring, environmental monitoring, and health assessment data sets.
- Implementation of data processing and analysis pipelines consistent with best practices in replicability and reproducibility.
- Development, implementation and regular maintenance of high quality, informative data documentation.
- Development of reports, charts, graphs, and tables to support clear and effective dissemination of results to stakeholders of varying levels of statistical expertise.
- Co-authorship of manuscripts, white papers, commentary, presentations, etc.
- Collaboration with research teams to develop novel approaches to data analysis and visualization.
- Supervision and mentorship of staff to support their professional data science development.
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and statistical expertise.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
