- Associate Veterinarian: Join Our Veterinary Family at University Veterinary Care Center!
Description
We're Looking for an Experienced Veterinarian (Full or Part-Time) to join our high-level privately-owned hospital
Ready to practice veterinary medicine surrounded by colleagues who truly have your back? At University Veterinary Care Center in Topeka, Kansas, we believe experienced veterinarians flourish when supported by an exceptional team and given the autonomy to practice excellent medicine.
A Culture Built on Collaboration, Not Competition
"There's a great mentorship and collaborative culture. Everyone has a strong suit, there's no competition and no production pressure. It's a very collaborative environment with no drama." - Dr. Amanda Utt
Step into a practice where seasoned veterinarians Dr. Travis Gratton and Dr. Amy Guernsey-Youngblood have created something special alongside Drs. Utt and Snyder. Here, experienced veterinarians share knowledge freely and support each other's growth. Whether you're looking to expand your expertise or contribute your specialized skills, you'll find colleagues who genuinely value what you bring to the table.
Advanced Medicine with Comprehensive Support
Our cutting-edge capabilities include abdominal, orthopedic, and soft tissue surgery, regenerative medicine with stem cells and platelet-rich plasma, animal rehabilitation, chiropractic and acupuncture, exotic pet medicine, and dentistry. Dr. Gratton's expertise in orthopedic procedures, combined with our surgical lasers and rehabilitation-trained technicians, means you can tackle complex cases with confidence.
"If I had a challenging case and asked for help, I always got it. The practice is good at keeping up with the newest modalities." - Dr. Amanda Utt
Professional Development That Matters
We invest significantly in our team's growth—Dr. Utt's acupuncture certification program in Florida cost over $12,000, and multiple technicians have been certified in rehabilitation, all practice-funded. When you express interest in advancing your skills, we back that commitment with real financial support.
"The two owners help everyone with education, no matter what their position." - Practice Team Member
Time to Practice Medicine Right
With minimum 30-minute appointments, you'll never feel rushed through cases. Our comprehensive diagnostic equipment—IDEXX lab systems, digital radiography, ultrasound, and surgical and therapeutic lasers—supports confident decision-making. With our commitment to technology and collaboration, patient referral is an option but not the norm.
A Team That Knows Their Craft
Our licensed technicians aren't just skilled—many have been perfecting their expertise here for over a decade, including a lead technician with six years' experience who started as an assistant and continues advancing her education with practice support.
"Everyone is treated equally no matter what their title. They look for common ground in discussions. The staff is very kind and teach new people easily." - Team Member
Work-Life Balance That's Real
Mental health matters here. When team members need time off, even without PTO available, it's granted. Our employee assistance program provides additional support, and monthly staff meetings end on positive notes of appreciation where each person gives recognition to colleagues.
"We're a real close-knit family—it's my second family." - Long-term Team Member
Growing Together
As we prepare to build our new state-of-the-art facility with expanded rehabilitation capabilities, you'll be part of an exciting journey supported by colleagues who believe in lifting each other up. Our Topeka area families have trusted us with their beloved pets for decades, providing the full spectrum of veterinary medicine while building lasting client relationships.
