- Associate Director of Risk Management
Description
BT Consulting Group is recruiting smart, eager risk management experts for a new leadership
opportunity. Our client, a regional public university in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks an Associate
Director of Risk Management to lead and implement its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
program. This critical role ensures the institution's financial stability, safety, and compliance by
overseeing all aspects of risk management, including workplace safety, workers' compensation,
liability, and insurance. Salary is $110,000-$120,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Management Program Development: Design, execute, and continuously improve
a university-wide risk management plan, policies, and procedures, including conducting
awareness training.
- Compliance and Advisory Services: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and
standards, serving as a primary advisor to university leadership on risk-related matters
and advising departments on accident prevention and loss control.
- Workers' Compensation and Safety: Administer the workers' compensation program,
including claims management and premium processing, and oversee safety programs to
ensure workplace compliance.
- Emergency Management: Collaborate with Public Safety to integrate crisis and
emergency management programs into risk operations and develop emergency plans for
institutional resilience.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and mentor the Risk Management team and
collaborate with other departments like Human Resources, Public Safety, and Facilities
Management to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance,
Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of three years of management experience in risk management
program administration, including investigation of workers' compensation, liability, and
property claims. Proven experience in project management and risk assessment.
- Certifications (Preferred): Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager
(FRM), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM),
Professional Risk Manager (PRM), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), or Associate
Emergency Manager (AEM).
Skills:
Strong analytical skills for identifying and solving risks, understanding of
university regulations and compliance, excellent communication and presentation skills
with a customer focus, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
